The city of Sedona lies in the northern Verde Valley region of the United States, straddling the county line between the Coconino and Yavapai counties. Sedona's main attraction is the array of beautiful red sandstone formations that surround it, commonly known as the Red Rocks of Sedona.
Sedona's other major attraction is the endless series of hiking and biking trails that wind their way through the countryside outside the city limits. Many visitors to Sedona shoulder hiking packs or straddle mountain bikes and make their way into the surrounding area to experience the Red Rock terrain first hand, and enjoy the beautiful vistas that await the adventurous. Some even rent jeeps and head out for some serious off-road driving, of the sort that only four wheel drive vehicles can provide.
Some of the more notable hiking trails around Sedona are Cathedral Rock, which offers hikers fantastic views of the surrounding landscape, and Oak Creek Crossing, which caters to less agile or energetic hikers.
Sedona is also famous for its thriving art community, with close to 100 art galleries as well as events including the Sedona International Film Festival, Sedona Arts Festival, and the Sedona Jazz Festival.

Sedona Airport is too small to support scheduled commercial jet traffic, but you can easily find cheap flights to Sedona by consulting your local tour agency. Flights from and into Sedona are limited to small and medium sized passenger aircraft.
